Don’t Dwell In The Past

The past is over and done with. There is no point in looking back at what happened and asking yourself “what if”. When something bad happens in your past, the best thing you can do is forget about it and move forward. Doing this will give you something to look forward to as opposed to thinking about how sad you are all the time.

Don’t Remain Sedentary

As soon as you stop moving and living your life, that’s exactly when depression will set in. When you are unhappy, that is the worst time to give yourself a break and relax. Instead, you should be proactive on working on changing and improving your mood.  

Don’t stay in bed or put off plans. Instead, get up early and exercise and find more social activities that you can include yourself in. The more you do, the harder it will be to spend time being unhappy. Keep yourself busy and you will be a happier person overall.


Don’t Hold Grudges

No matter who wronged you or what they did, there’s no point in holding a grudge. Holding a grudge will only make you more upset about what happened. Try not to think about things and work on forgiving people for their past mistakes. 

Even if you feel they do not deserve it, forgiveness is a tool that will help you more than anyone else. The goal is for you to be happy and forgiving them is one of the steps you have to take in order to accomplish that.
